SANA'A August 05. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni General Organization for Cement Industry and Marketing on Monday launched two major projects: the implementation of the Code of Professional Conduct and Public Job Ethics, and the simplification and automation of procedures within the institution and its affiliated units.
At the inauguration event, attended by Dr. Yasser al-Houri, Secretary of the Supreme Political Council, and Mahmoud al-Junaid, Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs in the caretaker government, the significance of these initiatives was highlighted.
Al-Junaid praised the Cement Corporation for initiating the Code of Professional Conduct alongside the simplification and automation of procedures project, calling it a crucial step for all institutions to enhance performance and better serve citizens.
"We urgently need to translate the contents of the Code of Professional Conduct into action, move towards automating procedures, and utilize modern technologies to improve performance and services.
This is the right path to state-building," al-Junaid stated.
Al-Junaid emphasized the importance of collective efforts to enhance the performance of government institutions and focus on the beneficiaries of their services.
The event, which also saw attendance from Ali al-Dailami, Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government, undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service for Control and Performance Evaluation Abdullah Haidar praised the Cement Corporation's efforts in implementing the Code of Job Conduct and simplifying procedures.
Haider highlighted the programs executed by the Ministry of Civil Service to enforce the Code of Professional Conduct and streamline procedures in alignment with national standards and work curricula, aiming to improve performance and services, thereby achieving results that directly benefit citizens.
Yahya Atefah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cement Corporation, noted that the launch of these two projects—implementing the Code of Professional Conduct and developing and simplifying procedures for digital transformation—is a fundamental step in protecting the institution's resources and bolstering its economic position.
Atefah emphasized that these initiatives are part of the efforts to restore the stature of the Cement Corporation and to follow the directives of the revolution leader, Abdulmalik al-Houthi.
He underscored the importance of adhering to the code of conduct derived from the faith identity and urged all employees of the institution and its factories to incorporate these principles into their daily work practices.
