SANA'A August 02. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control destroyed a quantity of chocolate cake and non-standard milk in Hodeida and Al-Raheda.
The Authority explained in a statement that it destroyed in Hodeidah three thousand and 800 cartons of cake stuffed with chocolate sauce that violated the approved standard specifications, in terms of the near expiration of the expiration period.
The communique indicated that more than 60 cartons of concentrated milk with vegetable fat that violated the approved standard specifications were destroyed at the Al-Raheda Control Center.
It pointed out that the destruction process was carried out in cooperation with customs and security services in accordance with the law and the powers granted to the Authority based on its role in protecting the health and safety of the consumer.
In its communique, the Authority called on all importers, manufacturers and producers to adhere to the approved standard specifications , standards of transportation and storage to ensure the health and safety of the consumer.
It called on everyone to cooperate with the Authority in a way that contributes to achieving protection for the country and citizens from counterfeit, smuggled and unfit goods.
