
HODEIDA July 30. 2024 (Saba) - The First Deputy Governor of Hodeida, Ahmed Al-Bishri, inspected on Tuesday the workflow at the branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Union in the province.
The Deputy Al-Bishri was briefed on the steps and stages that Union supervises branch in implementing in the field of replacing the local product of the date crop with the foreign product.
He listened from the head of the branch of the Union, Ahmed Hej, and the officer of the value chain of dates in the Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Abdulrahman Hazaa, to an explanation of the coordination mechanism between the Union and the cooperative societies to market dates, and the contracting process between the societies in the directorates of Al-Tuhayta, Bayt Al-Faqih and Al-Duraihimi and the merchants importing dates.
He also listened to an explanation about the supply of 500 tons of dates by cooperative societies in Hodeida during the current week, worth 200 million riyals, out of the total value of contracts concluded with traders and companies amounting to five thousand and 500 tons of dried dates.
The first deputy governor praised what he saw of the concerted efforts of the union and development partners in working to support and encourage both parties to contractual agriculture contracts (cooperative societies and traders and importers of dates).
He noted the smooth implementation of the steps and stages of supplying the quantities, which indicates that the project is moving steadily towards achieving the desired goals.
