
SANA'A July 30. 2024 (Saba) - Caretaker Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Bin Habtoor on Tuesday reiterated the government's commitment to combating human trafficking, condemning this criminal behavior that violates human dignity and humanity.
During an event commemorating the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and the International Organization for Migration, Dr. Bin Habtoor thanked the Ministry for its efforts and highlighted the historical and ongoing exploitation faced by immigrants.
He emphasized Yemen's history of migration and its role in building civilizations, while also acknowledging the country's recent reception of immigrants fleeing conflicts.
Dr. Bin Habtoor denounced the criminal exploitation of immigrants by human trafficking gangs and thanked the Ministry of Human Rights for its work on this critical issue.
Other officials, including the Human Rights Minister Ali al-Dailami, stressed the need for urgent activation of laws protecting trafficking victims and criticized international bodies for their inconsistent stance on human rights violations.
The event underscored the importance of global solidarity in combating human trafficking and highlighted ongoing efforts to support and protect victims.
