DAMASCUS July 29. 2024 (Saba) -Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad stressed the need for the United Nations to reveal the violations of the Zionist enemy and its repeated attacks on the Syria and to intervene to stop its practices against the people in the occupied Syrian Golan.
Mekdad pointed out, during his meeting on Monday with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, and his accompanying delegation - to continue Syria cooperation and provide the necessary facilities to the United Nations "UNDOF" to disengage in the occupied Syrian Golan to implement the mandate entrusted to it, stressing the Syria's inalienable and legitimate right to recover the occupied Golan, and condemning the heinous crime committed by the enemy forces yesterday in occupied Majdal Shams.
For his part, Lacroix welcomed the cooperation and facilities provided by the Syrian government, noting the role of United Nations peacekeeping operations in maintaining and promoting international peace and security, and the importance of de-escalation efforts in the region.
