TEHRAN July 29. 2024 (Saba) -The Public Relations of the IRGC's Third Naval Region announced the seizure of an oil tanker carrying smuggled fuel in the Gulf waters.
The Public Relations said in a statement carried by Tasnim International News Agency on Monday: "On Friday morning, August 26, an oil tanker bearing the Pearl G brand and flying the flag of the African country of Togo and owned by an Iraqi resident in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates was seized in the northern Persian Gulf near Arash oil field while loading smuggled fuel from Iranian boats."
The statement added: Initial estimates indicate that there are at least 700,000 liters of smuggled oil on this tanker.
The statement continued: This oil tanker with its nine-member Indian crew has been transferred to Imam Khomeini (RA) Port and is now under surveillance.
