Parliament listens to government’s messages regarding its recommendations implementation in Development & Oil Committee report

SANA'A July 27. 2024 (Saba) - The Parliament listened to the government's message regarding implementation level of the Council's recommendations related to Finance Ministry in the report of the Development, Oil and Mineral Resources Committee regarding its follow-up of petroleum derivatives and the results of its visits to the branches of the oil company in the capital, Sana'a and Hodeida provinces, with an attached explanation regarding implementation level of each recommendation by the Ministry.

The Council also listened in its session today, headed by brother Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, from the Minister of State for Parliamentary and Shura Council Affairs in the caretaker government, Dr. Ali Abu Halika, to the government's message regarding implementation level of the Council's recommendations related to Finance Ministry contained in the report of the Development, Oil and Mineral Resources Committee regarding its follow-up of domestic gas and the results of its field visit to Yemen Gas Company facilities in Hodeida. The message included clarifications from Finance Ministry regarding each recommendation contained in the report separately.

State Minister requested that this be included within the implemented procedures that the government committed to in a previous session before the Council.

The Council referred the memoranda and their attachments to the competent committee to take the necessary action.

In the same context, the Council listened to Public Health and Population Committee's report regarding the results of its study of the causes of the spread of (cholera) and the measures taken by Public Health and Population Committee Ministry .

The report addressed the sources and causes of watery diarrhea, the roles , responsibilities of the relevant authorities, and the measures taken by Health Ministry to contain the disease during the period from March 14 to July 15, 2024, as well as what relates to the epidemiological situation of acute watery diarrhea.

The report drew attention to the current circumstances and the siege and brutal aggression's effects on our country for ten years, and the deliberate spread of epidemics and diseases by the aggressor countries as one of the weapons against the Yemeni people, the latest of which was the Israeli aggression on electricity facilities, fuel stores and the port in Hodeida city to increase Yemeni people's suffering and target public life.

The report included an overview of cholera and explanations from the government side, the most prominent difficulties, and concluded with a set of observations, conclusions and recommendations reached by the committee.

During the session, the Council reviewed the report of the Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Committee regarding complaints from pomegranate farmers and exporters in Sa'ada Province. In the context of their discussions of the report, the Council members stressed the importance of encouraging farmers and finding appropriate solutions to the problems facing the marketing of agricultural products and overcoming difficulties related to all stages of marketing, storage and export. They stressed the need not to allow the export of products until they are ripe, stressing the importance of developing a clear and specific mechanism to find a strategy for agricultural products that preserves the rights of farmers , exporters and the quality of agricultural products.

The council members pointed out the importance of finding points to sell agricultural products to ensure their access to all Yemeni cities and regions.

After discussing the report, the council decided to return it to the relevant committee for further study and to absorb the comments raised by the members during the session
