Progress  at Amran local corporation for water, sanitation reviewed

AMRAN July 27. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in Amran province, led by Governor Dr. Faisal Juman, addressed the corporation's progress and activities in providing water and sanitation services to citizens.

Reports and performance indicators for the first half of the year were reviewed, highlighting achievements and challenges.

Governor Juman emphasized the importance of enhancing the corporation's performance, increasing revenue, and maintaining its capabilities to expand services amidst population growth.

A mechanism for collecting debts from both private and public sectors was proposed to ensure financial stability.

Director Eng. Nabil Zaid reported on 24 completed projects, including well rehabilitation, solar-powered systems, and sewage networks, with some funded locally and others supported by organizations.

The corporation plans to implement over 23 projects worth an estimated two billion riyals, focusing on improving water and sanitation services.

The corporation serves 9,198 subscribers, including 316 new ones, with a water production of over 638,161 cubic meters from 15 wells in the first half of the year.

The meeting also covered the difficulties faced by the corporation and proposed solutions to enhance its service activities, particularly in Houth, Khamer, Raydah, and Shaharah areas.
