
JAWF July 20. 2024 (Saba) - The Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry Undersecretary for the Agricultural Services Sector, Dhaif Allah Shamlan, accompanied by the Director General of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office, Mahdi Al-Dhamin, inspected the palm farms in Al-Sail District and the palm seedling nursery in the province center in Al-Hazm.
Shamlan and Al-Dhamin undertook an inspection tour to explore the types and varieties of dates in Al-Sail farms, and to explore the shoots expected to be produced in the coming days.
The Director of the Agriculture Office,Al-Dhamin , considered that this farm is a distinctive model in palm cultivation, as it includes about 2,500 palm trees of different varieties with high quality, stressing the importance of the current trend by the leadership and farmers towards expanding the cultivation of this crop, within the framework of the province’s plan for the year 1446 AH, which will witness expansion with the aim of achieving self-sufficiency in palm trees and supplying local markets for export.
After that, they visited the palm seedling nursery in Al Hazm with the aim of planting these seedlings on lands suitable for palm cultivation in the province.
