BEIJING July 18. 2024 (Saba) - At least 16 people have died in a mall fire in southwestern China's Sichuan province.
The Xinhua News Agency on Thursday said the fire broke out in a 14-storey building in a high-tech district in Zigong City, with thick smoke covering the nearby area.
Preliminary investigations showed that the fire was caused by construction work, and further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident, in turn, the Chinese Central Broadcasting Corporation (CCTV) said.
