WASHINGTON July 18. 2024 (Saba) - An opinion poll conducted by the Blue Labs Center revealed that US President Joe Biden has lost support in 14 states in light of the rise of his rival, Donald Trump, before the presidential elections scheduled for next November.
The poll, published by the American CNN network, indicated that “Trump is ahead of Biden in the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, which the current president was able to turn in his favor in the 2020 elections.”
He added, "Americans in Nevada, Colorado, Minnesota, Maine, New Mexico, Virginia, New Hampshire, and part of Nebraska are also losing confidence in Biden."
The first debate between Biden and Trump, which took place on June 27, witnessed a significant victory for Trump over Biden, who appeared confused and incoherent throughout the debate, which reinforced the ongoing concerns about his cognitive abilities instead of alleviating them.
His poor performance prompted some Democratic politicians and donors to call for his exclusion from the presidential race against Trump.
Last Monday, Trump received enough votes from members at the Republican National Convention to become the party's official nominee for president in next November's race.
