Water project of Bani Al-Harith handed over in As Saddah to beneficiaries committee

IBB July 16. 2024 (Saba) - The branch of the Public Authority for Rural Water Projects in Ibb Governorate handed over on Tuesday the Bani Al-Harith sub-district water project in As Saddah district to the Beneficiaries Committee to manage its operation.

The project which costs 20 million and 431 thousand riyals, funded by the Central Emergency Intervention Unit at the Ministry of Finance, includes the supply, transportation, installation and operation of solar-powered pumping units, benefiting five thousand people from the villages of "Dima, Al-Raza'i, Al Qaryat, Dhi Al-Daram, Ribat Johar, Kahla and Al-Masabih."

During the handover, the director of the authority's branch in the governorate, Eng. Majid Al-Shami, confirmed that water projects are receiving the attention of the revolutionary leadership, the political council, the leadership of the Ministry of Water and Environment and the Rural Water Projects Authority in providing drinking water to alleviate the suffering of the people of rural areas.

He pointed out that the rehabilitation of water projects and providing them with a solar energy system comes within the framework of meeting the existing need and providing water services to beneficiaries in rural areas.

The director of the directorate, Mohamed Al-Darwani, stressed the importance of the project in providing the region's need for clean water and alleviating the suffering of citizens, in bringing water from distant areas.

In addition, the director of the branch of the Rural Water Authority in the governorate briefed Engineer Al-Shami on the progress of work in the Dhamran water project in the isolation of Bani Munabbih in Yarim district.

The project, funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and with a contribution from the people, includes the installation and operation of a solar energy system at a cost of $ 15,000 under the supervision and implementation of the Rural Water Authority in the governorate.

The director of the branch of the Rural Water Authority in the governorate praised the efforts of donors in supporting and implementing service projects, especially water projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens. He called on the Organization for Migration to expand funding and support for water projects in rural areas.
