SANA'A July 16. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control began on Tuesday a field visit to verify weight measuring tools in industrial facilities.
The authority explained in a statement issued by it that the visit, which will include industrial facilities in Taiz province as a first stage, aims to verify the accuracy of the readings shown by the scales to ensure that the proportions in the ingredients and additives in the final products are in accordance with the requirements of the approved standard specifications and that they are within the optimal and appropriate limits for consumption.
The statement pointed out that visits will be made to industrial facilities in various provinces as part of the authority’s efforts to provide services to citizens and merchants alike.
For his part, the branch director of the Yemeni Standardization Organization in Taiz, Engineer Riyad Al-Bukhaiti, indicated that verifying weight measuring tools aims to ensure access to products that conform to the approved standard specifications and meet the needs of the consumer. He pointed out that during the disembarkation, special stickers will be placed on the scales whose reading has been verified correctly. .
He stressed the need to enhance community awareness of the measurement importance , measurement and weight to protect society and prevent commercial fraud in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency and national industries competitivenes .
