OCCUPIED AL-QUDS July 15. 2024 (Saba) - Zionist enemy authorities on Monday demolished four facilities in the town of Hizma town, northeast of Quds, and a house in Al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem.
The Palestinian Wafa News Agency quoted the Deputy Mayor of Hizma Municipality, one of the owners of the damaged facilities, Saed Odeh Al-Khatib, as saying that enemy forces demolished four facilities located on Hizma Street (a gas station, a tire workshop, a grocery store, and a vehicle wash).
During the demolition process, confrontations broke out with the occupation forces, who fired poison gas bombs, stun grenades, and live bullets towards citizens and their homes, and no injuries were reported.
On Monday, enemy forces demolished a house in Al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem.
The head of the Al-Walaja Village Council, Khader Al-Araj, reported that the occupation forces stormed Al-Maqbara neighborhood in Ain Jwiza area, and demolished a house belonging to the citizen Fadi Abu Rizq, with an area of 85 square metres.
Since the start of the comprehensive occupation aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in October 2023, and in parallel with the unprecedented destruction inflicted on homes, buildings and facilities in the Strip, demolitions of citizens’ homes have escalated, especially in the area called (C), which constitutes about 60% of the West Bank area.
Data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission show that the occupation authorities demolished 318 facilities in the West Bank during the first half of 2024, compared to the demolition of 313 facilities during the entire year of 2023, an indication of an unprecedented escalation of demolitions.
