Earthquake hits Kerman region in southeastern Iran, no losses

TEHRAN July 12. 2024 (Saba) -The Iranian Seismological Center announced that the "Rabor" area in the southeastern province of Kerman was hit by an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale on Friday afternoon.

The earthquake monitoring center of the Geophysics Foundation of the University of Tehran said the quake occurred 17 km from Rabor, 28 km from Darb-e Behesht and 35 km from Bazanjan.

The depth of this earthquake is also 10 kilometers.

According to the Director General of Crisis Management in Kerman Governorate, Hamid Salkhorde, the earthquake did not result in any material or human losses.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society in Kerman province reported that four rescue teams had been dispatched to the area following the report of the quake.

Specialized teams have also been sent to assess the possible damage to villages near the epicenter.
