SANA'A July 12. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects variable and scattered thunderstorms in a number of provinces, hot to very hot weather in deserts, plains, coastal areas, strong winds on the eastern and southern coasts during the next 24 hours.
According to the weather forecast issued by the centre, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected, accompanied by falling winds and hailstones at times, in parts of Sa'ada, Amran, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz , Al Dhalea, Al Bayda provinces and the highlands of the Tihama Plain.
Thunderstorms also fell outside the range of monitoring stations in parts of Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj, Taiz, Raymah, Dhamar, Sana'a, Marib, Amran provinces and the Tihama Plain.
The center warned against being in the depths of valleys , flood paths, thunderstorms , hailstones, low horizontal visibility due to rainfall , dense low clouds, and against crossing ground bridges when torrents are flowing.
It also warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of turbulent seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, the eastern and southern coasts.
The center advised citizens and workers in deserts, plains and coastal areas not to be directly exposed to sunlight, especially during the afternoon, and to drink plenty of fluids.
