BRUSSELS July 11. 2024 (Saba) - European Union Commissioner for Crisis Management and Humanitarian Aid, Janez Lenarčić, considered that "the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is completely unacceptable," noting that the Zionist bombing impedes the distribution of aid in the Strip.
Lenarcic said in a press interview today that the European Union calls for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza to provide the necessary humanitarian aid.
He pointed out that humanitarian aid should not only enter Gaza, but should be distributed to everyone in need of assistance throughout the Strip.
The Commission member explained that the first problem is “insufficient aid entering Gaza.”
"The second and biggest problem is the security situation resulting from the ongoing Israeli bombing even as aid reaches the Gaza border, and therefore cannot be distributed," he added.
"We call for an immediate ceasefire," he said.
