Judicial inspection authority launches surprise visits across courts
[11/ July/2024]
SANA'A July 11. 2024 (Saba) - The Judicial Inspection Authority has initiated surprise field visits to courts of appeal and first instance across the capital Sana'a and several provinces, marking the start of the Muharram session 1446 AH.

Judge Ahmed Ali al-Shahari, Chairman of the Authority, inaugurated the inspections and emphasized that these visits are part of ongoing efforts to evaluate the distribution of cases among judges during the previous year (1445 AH), ensuring each judge handles cases in their specialty and addressing any disparities.

The inspections aim to analyze judges' performance over the past judicial year, assessing the complexity of cases handled and the correctness of rulings issued.

Specific focus is placed on criminal judgments held by prisoners, the status of case files pending transfer, and adherence to procedural timelines.

Fifteen inspection committees, composed of seasoned judges, have been tasked to oversee this process across multiple regions including Sanaa, Hodeida, Ibb, and Taiz.

The inspections will also verify the accuracy of court records and evaluate the implementation of previous inspection recommendations, emphasizing punctuality and procedural discipline among judges.

These efforts underscore the authority's commitment to enhancing judicial efficiency and ensuring accountability within Yemen's judicial system as it enters the new judicial year 1446 AH.
