GENEVA July 09. 2024 (Saba) - The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, confirmed that there is no safe place in Gaza, and that recent reports about the Zionist evacuation orders in Gaza City hinder treatment of the injured.
Ghebreyesus said in a tweet on the "X" website: "Al-Ahli "Baptist" Hospital and "Friends of the Patient" Hospital in Gaza City have gone out of service, and patients have been evacuated or referred to "Kamal Adwan" Hospital and "Indonesian" Hospital, which are suffering from a shortage of fuel, beds and medical supplies."
He pointed out that "the "Indonesian" Hospital is operating at three times its capacity."
He added: "Al-Helou Hospital is located within the areas where the evacuation order was issued, but it is still partially operational. Al-Sahaba and Al-Shifa hospitals are located close to the areas subject to the evacuation order, but they are still operational. There are also six medical points and two primary health care centers within the evacuation areas."
He continued by saying: "These hospitals and major medical facilities may not be able to operate quickly due to hostilities in the surrounding areas or obstruction of access to them."
The Director-General of the World Health Organization concluded the tweet by calling for a "ceasefire in Gaza."
The Zionist enemy army is intensifying its land, air and sea attacks on various areas in Gaza, amid a large wave of displacement in the eastern areas of Gaza, while battles and clashes continue in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood and the city of Rafah.
The administration of the Arab Baptist Hospital said on Monday: "The enemy army forced us to close the hospital after its surroundings were subjected to heavy gunfire from drones."
