Sana'a University launches workshop on effective curriculum management in medical faculty

SANA'A July 08. 2024 (Saba) - A scientific workshop on Monday commenced in the capital Sana'a at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sana'a University, focusing on effective curriculum management for clinical faculty members.

The two-day workshop is part of the university's strategic plan to achieve leadership in medical and health education in Yemen.

Dr. Khaled al-Khamisi, the Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the importance of these workshops in equipping academic and administrative staff with the necessary skills to implement effective curriculum management.

This aligns with international academic accreditation standards that the college aims to achieve in the near future.

The workshop covers curriculum execution mechanisms based on educational and continuous learning strategies, enhancing faculty capabilities to keep pace with modern educational programs.

Dr. al-Khamisi highlighted the college's commitment to producing qualified graduates equipped with knowledge and skills that meet societal needs and adhere to professional ethics.

Dr. Aref al-Hamadi, the Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, discussed the benefits of obtaining academic accreditation for the Medicine and Surgery program, stressing its importance in ensuring the quality of medical education, improving academic achievement, and enhancing clinical and academic curricula.

Dr. Huda El-Amad, the Dean of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at Sana'a University, reviewed the strengths, weaknesses, and proposals for developing clinical training linked to academic aspects.

The curriculum report serves as a roadmap for teaching at the college, underscoring the vital role of effective curriculum management in producing high-quality outcomes aligned with technological advancements and evolving scientific theories.

National expert Saleh Bahaj and Dr. Ahmed Mujahed, Deputy Dean of the Academic Development Center, presented the curriculum file contents, faculty satisfaction metrics, and administrative systems related to teaching effectiveness, research, promotions, incentives, university management, financial status, quality of training services, and modern teaching and learning strategies.

The workshop aims to enhance educational methodologies and institutional capabilities, ensuring Sana'a University remains at the forefront of medical education in Yemen.
