OCCUPIED AL-QUDS July 07. 2024 (Saba) - The leader of the opposition in Israel, Yair Lapid, urged on Sunday for a deal to be reached with the Palestinian Hamas movement, aimed at halting the conflict in Gaza and facilitating the return of detainees.
According to the Zionist enemy army radio, Lapid stated, "We must stop the war, negotiate a settlement, and secure the return of detainees." He emphasized Israel's historical stance against prolonged conflicts, noting, "Our military relies on reservists who are not suited for prolonged warfare."
Recent American reports indicated that CIA Director William Burns plans to travel to Doha next week for talks concerning a potential prisoner exchange and ceasefire in Gaza.
Participating in these discussions will be Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Mossad Chief David Barnea, and Egyptian General Intelligence Director Abbas Kamel.
Channel 12 in Israel quoted Mossad sources involved in the negotiations, expressing optimism about reaching an agreement that could lead to the return of detainees.
