MOSCOW July 06. 2024 (Saba) - Russia's representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, has confirmed that there were no serious Western efforts to negotiate the Ukraine crisis, and that the West's position would change according to the course of the Russian military operation.
"We are not witnessing any serious attempts at negotiations, and I believe that all of this situation may change, and will change with the development of the situation on the ground, and the worse the situation becomes for Western countries, the louder the voices calling for dialogue and negotiations and the necessity of ending the conflict or freezing it on the least", Nebenzia told the Russia-24 channel on Friday.
Nebenzia recently urged the West to respond to the peace initiative proposed by President Vladimir Putin for a settlement in Ukraine, indicating that this initiative does not aim to freeze the conflict, but rather to put a real end to it.
