TEHRAN July 4. 2024 (Saba) - Iranian National Election Commission at eight o'clock this morning, Thursday, said the electoral campaign period for the two final candidates for the runoff round of the 14th presidential elections has ended, in preparation for running in the electoral contest scheduled for Friday, July 5th.

According to Iranian news agencies, the election campaigns began on June 30, after the Guardian Council endorsed the safety and integrity of the presidential elections in its first round, and ended at eight o’clock this morning, local time.

During this period, two television debates were held on politics, culture and the economy. The television also broadcast propaganda films for the candidates who qualified for the run-off and their television dialogues with the people.

In the first round of the presidential elections, four candidates participated: Mostafa Pourmohammadi, Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, and Masoud Pezeshkian. None of them obtained the quorum necessary to win from the first round, so the elections moved to the second round, which will be held tomorrow, Friday, between the candidates Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili, who won the highest Percentage of votes.
