KYIV July 03. 2024 (Saba) -The Hungarian president on Tuesday called on the Ukrainian president to consider immediate ceasefire, a call in conflict with the Ukrainian and European stance.
I demanded the president counterpart to look at potential ceasefire, in order to accelerate peace talks, Viktor Orban said at press conference with Vladimir Zelenskiy during a trip to Kyiv after his country took lead of the European Union.
He said he would brief the EU on the "frank" talks with Zelenskiy to make necessary decisions.
While he did not reply to his Hungarian counterpart's proposal, the Ukrainian president later said he had called on Orban to join Ukrainian efforts to organize peace summit.
A ceasefire would allow Russia to boost its forces, Zelinsky said, calling for Russian withdrawal as a key condition for peace.
