NEW YORK July 03. 2024 (Saba) -The UN Coordinator for Humanitarian and Reconstruction Assistance for Gaza on Tuesday called for secured inflow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza Strip, where aid supplies direly declined since the Israeli army invaded Rafah.
There is still a need for immediate de-escalation in Gaza, Sigrid Kaag added in remarks carried by the Palestinian information center, calling on the UN Security Council to continue providing supplies and funding to humanitarian agencies.
More contributions are urgently needed to address the $2.5 billion flash appeal, she said, underlining the need for an effective, reliable system to coordinate and prevent clashes in Gaza, and to store and transport fuel required daily in advance.
Military activity and lack of safe roads affect humanitarian operations, the UN official told the Security Council.
