Road Projects in al-Sadda district, Ibb, through Community Initiatives inspected

IBB July 01. 2024 (Saba) - Director General of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance Eng. Shihab al-Shami on Monday inspected a number of road projects in the al-Sadda district of Ibb province which are being implemented through community initiatives.

Al-Shami reviewed the work on the paving of Ammiqa road in Wadi Hajaj area, which is 290 meters long and 4 meters wide, and the paving of al-Manazil road in Jabal al-Tuwaiti area, which is 700 meters long and 4 meters wide. These projects are funded by the residents with support from the Central Emergency Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance.

During the visits, the Director of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit appreciated the efforts of the district leadership in facilitating the unit’s work and encouraging the community to contribute to the success of the initiatives, due to their importance in achieving local development and providing services.

He pointed out that road projects receive special priority from the unit, urging the focus on initiatives in the most deprived and needy areas, especially in terms of roads and water projects.

Al-Shami confirmed that the unit will support community initiatives in the district with diesel and cement.

Meanwhile, representative of the Central Interventions Unit in the province Eng. Mohsen bin Nayef explained that the number of projects being implemented with the support of the unit in the district is 27 projects, with a total cost of 50,509,000 Y.R. The unit contributed 20 percent in-kind and 80 percent came from the residents.

For his part, Director of the district Mohammed al-Darwani highlighted the importance of community initiatives, which embody the values of cooperation and solidarity among community members.

He praised the efforts of the Central Emergency Interventions Unit in supporting the initiatives to bring about comprehensive development plans.

He also commended the community's efforts in implementing the initiatives, noting that they are the main artery that connects the eastern and western isolation of the district with its center, facilitating access to areas and villages and linking them together to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

He was accompanied by local and executive leaders and heads and members of the community committees in the district.
