OCCUPIED AL-QUDS June 26. 2024 (Saba) - The Israeli army has started pressing for the formation of a new force (called David Force), local media said on Wednesday, citing a shortage in troops tasked with security missions.
The force will entail recruits of exemption age, as well as volunteers, including Haredim, military analyst for 'Walah' website said, noting that the force would amount to 40,000.
There is a plan to recruit reserve Haredim as contingents and the as battalions, with their life pattern remain maintained, Amir Bohbot added, as it was decided to add volunteers to the force for reserve service.
Reserve Gen. Moty Barokh, who served as the commander of Nahal Brigade, was chosen to form the force that would be tasked with recruiting fighters, commanders and officers, he said.
