TEHRAN June 25. 2024 (Saba) - The European Union imposed sanctions on the "Jihad Research and Self-Sufficiency" organization affiliated with the ground forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, after repeated allegations of Iranian military support for Russia in the war against Ukraine.
A statement published on the European Union website last night said: The Jihad Research and Self-Sufficiency Organization affiliated with the Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps participated in transporting Iranian drones to Russia to support its “war of aggression” against Ukraine, according to the statement’s description.
The European Union claimed: “Russia is using Iranian-made drones to support its aggressive war against Ukraine and is violating this country’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, including against civilians and civilian infrastructure.”
Officials in Iran and Russia have repeatedly rejected allegations of military cooperation regarding the war in Ukraine, but the European Union has imposed a series of sanctions on Tehran since the summer of last year, under pressure from the Zionist entity and opponents of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Last May, this union tightened sanctions against Iran in light of the “Sincere Promise” retaliatory operation against the Zionist entity after its aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, in order to target individuals and institutions active in the field of transporting Iranian missiles and drones.
