GAZA June 25. 2024 (Saba) - The Ministry of Health in Gaza has urgently called on international institutions and concerned parties to swiftly intervene and provide essential medicines and medical supplies to save lives amidst ongoing hostilities.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Ministry highlighted the persistent aggression against Gaza by Israeli forces, including the closure of all crossings, severely impacting the health sector.
Hospitals and health centers are facing critical shortages of medicines and necessary supplies, jeopardizing medical services crucial for treating the sick and injured.
The statement underscored that stocks of vital medications like reception, emergency, anesthesia, intensive care, and surgical supplies are depleted or nearing exhaustion.
The Ministry warned of dire consequences, including limited medical services for oncology and dialysis patients, particularly children, putting approximately 1,000 lives at risk.
Essential medications for primary health services such as maternal, child, reproductive health, chronic diseases, and psychiatric care are also dwindling, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis, the Ministry's statement added.
