RAFAH June 15. 2024 (Saba) - Qassam Battalions on Saturday claimed responsibility for a compound ambush targeting Israeli vehicles in Tel al-Sultan, west Rafah City.
Early on the day of Arafa, our mujahedeen waited in a compound ambush for enemy machines stealing in the Saudi neighborhood in Tel al-Sultan, Hamas military wing said in a statement.
The mujahedeen targeted a military 'D9' bulldozer with 'Yaseen 105' shell, setting fire to the earthmover's tower and leaving its personnel killed or injured, Qassam Battalions added.
Once a rescue unit arrived at the scene, a 'Namira' personnel carrier was bombed with a 'Yaseen 105' shell, leaving the vehicle damaged and its personnel killed or injured, the Qassam statement read.
According to the Israeli army, eight servicemen, including a commander, were killed, as the personnel carrier was fully burnt after being targeted with anti-armor projectile in Gaza Strip.
