GENEVA June 15. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) spokesman James Elder said on Saturday that it is not normal for children in the Gaza Strip to live in "constant terror due to Israeli bombardment."
Elder told Anadolu Agency that "the situation in Gaza is getting worse for children day by day, amid the intensification of heat and the accumulation of families in tents on the sand."
On the repercussions of forced displacement in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, Elder said that "there are 3,000 children to whom we used to provide emergency food assistance and now we do not know their whereabouts," explaining that "with the continued restrictions on the entry of aid, after more than 250 days of war on Gaza, the people of Gaza face severe difficulties in obtaining food for their children."
