WASHINGTON June 13. 2024 (Saba) - Last night, the US House of Representatives made an amendment to the budget of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) to prevent the ministry from allocating any funds to contribute to the reconstruction of Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a destructive Zionist aggression for about 9 months.
American media quoted Republican Representative Brian Mast - who proposed the amendment - in his intervention before the vote, saying: The United States should not contribute to building anything inside the Gaza Strip after the end of the war.
He continued, saying: “We should not pay money to build a port or a building, and we certainly should not pay to build a terrorist tunnel, nor a building that can be used to house those detained by various terrorist organizations,” as he put it.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken confirmed his country's pledge to provide $400 million during a conference held in Jordan on Tuesday with the participation of several countries.
It is noteworthy that in exchange for this ban, the US House of Representatives last May passed a bill forcing President Joe Biden to send arms shipments to the Zionist enemy entity, and also sought to censure the president for delaying sending bomb shipments to the occupying entity.
