JENIN June 12. 2024 (Saba) - In a disturbing turn of events, Zionist enemy forces launched a series of incursions into multiple areas across the Jenin governorate, while simultaneously intensifying their oppressive tactics in the Old City of Hebron.
According to reports from Palestinian News Agency, security sources revealed that the occupation forces forcefully entered several villages and towns, including al-Jalama, Deir Abu Daif, Qabatiya, Masliya, al-Jarba, Sanur, Kafirat, Ya’bad, Araba, Triangle of Martyrs, Marka, Zabada, and Jalboun.
These incursions involved raiding neighborhoods and deploying military vehicles throughout the streets, further exacerbating tensions in the region.
Additionally, occupation drones have been spotted conducting extensive surveillance flights over the affected areas.
Concurrently, on this Wednesday, enemy forces escalated their oppressive measures targeting residents of neighborhoods east of the Old City of Hebron.
Activist Arif Jaber reported a surge in repressive actions against civilians in the Jaber, Al-Salaymeh, and Wadi al-Hussein neighborhoods.
The occupation forces tightened an existing curfew, which has been in place since October 7, preventing citizens from leaving their homes or even standing near windows and doors.
Furthermore, families attempting to return to their homes were detained by the occupying forces, exacerbating the distress of the affected population.
Since the imposition of the curfew, approximately 11 neighborhoods in the eastern part of the Old City of Hebron have been under severe restrictions, with residents facing evening curfews and limited mobility enforced by occupation soldiers.
The daily lives of civilians are marred by continual abuse at the hands of both soldiers and armed colonists, heightening tensions and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Jaber highlighted the increasing frequency of these repressive measures, expressing concerns that the occupation aims to impose a new reality on the residents, disrupting their lives and forcing them into a state of submission or displacement.
In response to these egregious actions, Jaber urged the international community and humanitarian organizations to swiftly intervene and put an end to the suffering of Palestinian residents in these besieged areas.
The urgent need to alleviate the plight of those affected cannot be overstated, as the situation continues to deteriorate under the oppressive grip of the occupation forces.
