SANA'A June 05. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting in Sana'a, headed by the Minister of Public Health and Population in the caretaker government, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakkil, discussed today, Wednesday, the problems , difficulties facing the medical supplies, devices and equipment sectors, the necessary solutions , treatments within the framework of securing the drug stock, and the needs of society and health institutions.
The meeting, which included the Chairman of the Supreme Pharmaceutical Authority, Dr. Ali Abbas, and a number of leaders and members of the Union of Importers of Medicines and Medical Supplies, reviewed the observations and proposed amendments to the regulatory regulations for medical supplies, devices, equipment, and the like, and a period of one week was set to complete the discussion and submit the amendments to the regulations.
At the meeting, Minister Al-Mutawakkil stressed the keenness of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council to focus on local industry, stimulate national capital to invest in the country and create appropriate conditions for that.
He also stressed the Ministry's keenness to overcome all difficulties facing importers of medicines, medical supplies and equipment, in a way that embodies the effective partnership between the public , private sectors and work to localize the pharmaceutical industry.
For their part, the director and members of the Pharmaceutical Importers Union praised the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Health and the Supreme Authority for Medicines, its understanding of the issues raised at the meeting, the speed of response and guidance in implementing urgent solutions, and the endeavor to develop the general performance in the Authority.
