[04/ June/2024]
VIENNA June 04. 2024 (Saba) - In the ongoing Vienna talks on security and arms control, the head of the Russian delegation, Konstantin Gavrilov, issued a stern warning to Western nations, urging them to carefully consider the repercussions of supplying Ukraine with long-range weaponry.

Speaking to "Izvestia" in response to inquiries regarding Russia's potential response to deep incursions into its territory, Gavrilov, as reported by "TASS" and RT, emphasized that military decisions rest with the leadership. He underscored President Putin's unequivocal stance on the matter, particularly highlighted during his recent visit to Uzbekistan, where he cautioned non-aligned Western nations about the risks posed by such actions.

Gavrilov asserted, "Some have already lost their sensibilities; it's imperative for them to ponder the aftermath of deploying long-range arms against Russian soil. Our president and foreign minister have reiterated this stance. The West must exercise prudence."

This warning comes amidst growing calls from Western leaders, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, advocating for Ukrainian strikes on Russian territories. The Kremlin has labeled this trend as an unparalleled escalation, necessitating heightened vigilance and countermeasures.

According to Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin's Press Secretary, European counterparts recognize the rapidly shifting dynamics, fearing the imminent collapse of Ukraine. Nonetheless, their actions risk exacerbating tensions to unprecedented levels.
