WASHINGTON May 14. 2024 (Saba) - US officer Harrison Mann announced his resignation from the Defense Intelligence Agency "in protest against his work that contributed to the killing of Palestinians."
The former official, who resigned from the US Defense Intelligence Agency last November, said via his LinkedIn account last night that he resigned because of the “moral damage” caused by the Gaza war, and that he remained silent about the motives out of fear.
Mann issued a letter Monday, explaining to his colleagues at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that his resignation on November 2 was actually due to “moral injury” caused by American support for Israel’s war on Gaza, and the resulting harm to the Palestinians.
Mann said: He remained silent about his motives for resigning for several months out of fear.
Harrison Mann, an army major, will be the first known official in the Military Intelligence Agency to resign due to American support for the Zionist entity. An American pilot set himself on fire last February outside the Zionist embassy in Washington and other military personnel protested.
He added: "I was afraid. Fearful that our professional standards would be violated. Fearful of disappointing officers whom I respect. Fearful of feeling betrayed."
Mann continued, saying that he "felt ashamed and guilty because he helped develop American policy," which he said contributed to the mass killing of Palestinians.
As Mann wrote: “At some point, whatever the justification, you either advance a policy that enables mass starvation of children, or you don't.”
In the ongoing Zionist war on Gaza, more than 35,000 Palestinians were martyred and more than 80,000 others were injured... according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, amid increasing international warnings about the danger of famine.
The high number of martyrs ignited pro-Palestinian protests in most cities and countries in the world, sweeping across universities in Europe and across the United States.
