Dhamar Fisheries Office seizes quantity of damaged fish

DHAMAR May 09. 2024 (Saba) - The Fisheries Office in Dhamar Governorate seized on Thursday more than half a ton of damaged fish unfit for human use.

The director of the Fisheries Office in Dhamar Sadiq al-Siblani told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the control and control cadres of the office seized a small car in the crossing market in Jahran district, carrying a quantity of 765 kilograms of fish packed in "baskets" without a refrigerator or refrigeration means.

He stressed that the health examination of the seized quantity was carried out and it was found that it is unfit for human use as a result of the emergence of physiological changes and damage to the quantity due to poor preservation and storage, and non-observance of compliance with health requirements during the transport and preservation of meat. He indicated that the quantity was seized, a report was written to destroy it and legal measures were taken.
