SANA'A May 07. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting held today,Tuesday, in Sana'a, headed by the Attorney General of Public Funds, Judge Ali Al-Mutawakkil, discussed a number of topics related to procedures for controlling violations and crimes related to the electricity sector.
The meeting, which included the Chief Public Funds Prosecutor in the Capital Secretariat, Judge Abdullah Al-Mahdi, the Director of the General Electricity Corporation, Dr. Mishaal Al-Rifi, the Director of the Second Region of the Secretariat Electricity, Yahya Al-Saraji, and the Corporation’s legal affairs employees, reviewed a number of cases referred by judicial control officers at the Ministry of Electricity to the prosecution and the procedures taken in their regard. .
He stressed the need to implement the law, protect public money, ensure the correctness of procedures for controlling crimes , violations, refer case files that include all documents and data so that the prosecution can play its role in filing criminal cases against the perpetrators of crimes.
For his part, the Director of the Corporation touched on the criminal incidents related to the theft of cables, transformers, electricity poles, the illegal consumption of electricity, the procedures for controlling them, and the difficulties the Corporation faces in this aspect, in addition to collecting debts from taxpayers.
He stressed the Corporation's commitment to proper legal procedures related to the judicial investigation of electricity crimes, following up on cases referred to the prosecution, and everything that would contribute to protecting public money.
