
SANA'A May 07. 2024 (Saba) - The Supervisory Committee and the team preparing the national strategy for the economic empowerment of small and micro enterprises held a meeting on Tuesday, chaired by the Advisor to the President of the Supreme Political Council, Allama Muhammad Muftah, and in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs - the official of the services and social solidarity sector, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli.
The meeting, which included the Minister of Social Affairs in the caretaker government, Obaid bin Dabia, and a number of representatives of the concerned authorities, discussed the work plan of the draft strategy, its methodology and work mechanisms in accordance with the National Strategic Planning Manual, and the guidelines of the National Vision for Building the Modern Yemeni State 2030.
In the meeting, Allama Miftah stressed the importance of this project, which comes within the framework of the state's directions to pay attention to the segments of society and involve the private sector in a way that would achieve the goals of the national vision and advance the development process and its national goals and priorities.
He pointed to the importance of the National Strategy for Economic Empowerment as one of the most important mechanisms of strategic direction to support the productive structure in the country and has a key role in moving the wheel of the national economy.
He urged the need for concerted efforts by the official and the private sector in implementing economic empowerment programmes and projects to achieve sustainable development, and to encourage small and micro enterprises as one of the most important elements of sustainable economic development and a tool for poverty alleviation, unemployment reduction and job creation.
Allama Muftah pointed to the importance of developing and supporting the small and micro enterprises sector in a way that contributes to raising its efficiency as one of the tributaries of the national economy. He stressed the readiness of the Supreme Political Council to provide all necessary facilities for the success of economic empowerment plans, programs and projects.
For his part, Dr. Maqbouli pointed to the importance of effective projects for those interested in economic empowerment projects.
He pointed out that this strategy will play a major role in the governance of these entities and unify their activities in order to lead the transformation in the issues of economic empowerment and provide better services to the community.
Dr. Maqbouli touched on the government's efforts to develop, support and encourage economic empowerment initiatives and projects.
