RAMALLAH April 29. 2024 (Saba) - The Palestinian Prisoners' Club has confirmed that the number of current administrative prisoners in the prisons of the Zionist enemy is the highest historically, in light of the escalation of arrest campaigns.
The club said in a statement carried by Sanad News Agency that the enemy continues to issue more administrative detention orders in exchange for the recent limited releases of administrative detainees.
It pointed out that the Zionist enemy had actually begun to escalate this crime since before October 7, continuously, specifically since April 2022, when the number of administrators at that time reached 600, and continued to escalate until it exceeded a thousand in March 2023, according to data monitored by the relevant institutions since that period.
The Club continued saying “After the date of October 7, and in light of the genocide and escalating aggression, the number of administrative detainees exceeded two thousand detainees, and continued to rise until it reached, at the beginning of April 2024, more than 3,660 detainees, making this the highest number historically based on the available data.”
The Zionist enemy continues to launch arrest campaigns in the occupied West Bank, the pace of which has escalated since October 7, 2023, as the number of arrests since that date has reached 8,495 arrests.
