SANA'A April 27. 2024 (Saba) - The General District of Extension and Information at the Ministry of Agriculture signed on Saturday an agreement with the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund to finance agricultural extension programs worth more than 81 million riyals.
The agreement, which was signed by the Executive Director of the Fund, Eng. Abdul Wahab Al-Ashwal, and the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Extension and Information Department, Eng. Saleh Al-Emad, includes the latter's implementation of programs in the field of agricultural extension and information within its plan for the year 2024, as well as the extension program for farmer field schools to apply best practices in agricultural production.
The Agricultural extension program includes four projects in the areas of improved agricultural processes for plant production, resource development and sustainability, as well as improved animal production processes, which contribute to raising awareness and self-empowerment of local communities in sustainable resource management and livelihood development, as well as enhancing and developing the role of rural women in the agricultural sector.
According to the agreement, the funding includes many television and radio media programs that will be prepared and implemented by the General District of Agricultural Extension and Information.
