SANA'A April 27. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control destroyed goods and commodities in violation of the approved standard specifications in Hodeidah and Al-Rahida.
The Authority explained in a statement issued today, received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it destroyed 1,548 cartons of stuffed cakes at Al-Rahida Control Center, in cooperation with customs and security authorities, due to the presence of apparent mold on the product.
It indicated that in Hodeidah, in cooperation with customs, the Violations and Housing Prosecution, and the competent authorities in the port of Hodeidah, a quantity of electronic shishas were destroyed, as they were prohibited from entering Yemeni territory, according to Circular No. (30) for the year 1445-2024 AD.
The statement pointed out that the destruction process was carried out in accordance with the law and the powers granted to the authority based on its role in protecting the health and safety of the consumer.
The authority called on all producers, importers and manufacturers to adhere to the requirements for import, transportation, storage, production and manufacturing in accordance with the requirements of technical regulations, specifications and standards... stressing that there will be no leniency or abuse in the entry of violating and prohibited products that do not conform to the approved standard specifications.
