[25/ April/2024]
NEW YORK April 25. 2024 (Saba) - United Nations Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq stressed the necessity of conducting an investigation into the mass graves discovered following the withdrawal of the Zionist enemy army from areas in the Gaza Strip, noting that this requires the approval of all parties.

Haq explained, in a press statement, that the United Nations demanded an independent and reliable investigation into the recovery of 51 additional bodies from the mass grave discovered in Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis city, south of Gaza.

He added, "It is not known what type of investigation will be conducted or who can conduct it, but the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and OCHA are on the field."

Haq pointed out that the aforementioned organizations can also investigate human rights violations, stressing the need to conduct an independent, effective and transparent investigation regarding Nasser and Al-Shifa hospitals.

He stated that the situation on the ground currently was not suitable for conducting an investigation, and that hospitals, their workers, patients and civilians should be protected.
