SANA'A April 24. 2024 (Saba) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade launched on Wednesday the implementation of a plan to transform local juice factories towards the use of local agricultural raw materials.
This came during the visit of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ahmed Mohammed Al-Shoutri, and Undersecretary of the Internal Trade Sector to the Bajil Complex for Food Industries and a number of juice production factories in Hodeidah Governorate.
The Deputy Minister of Industry praised the level of production process in the Bagel Food Industries Complex, stressing that it is a successful experience for food industries based on local production inputs, and provides raw materials for juice and sauce factories.
He stressed that the field visit to local juice factories to launch the process of transformation towards local production inputs comes in implementation of the directives of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry, and said that "the shift towards the use of local raw materials in the food industry has entered into force and is an important moment in the history of national industries and the national economy."
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry for the Internal Trade Sector indicated that the ministry has developed a plan to absorb juice factories for primary raw materials.
He stated that local juice factories will begin a gradual shift towards the use of local production inputs as part of a broader plan to shift all food industries towards local raw materials, which will contribute to promoting and creating multiple economic activities that support the national economy.
Undersecretary Qatran stressed that the success of the experience of localizing the dairy industry will be applied to the rest of the food industries to achieve self-sufficiency. He pointed out that the ministry will work to provide support for local products, especially products based on local raw materials, in order to establish a sustainable national productive industrial base.
