Bayda Governor inaugurates Beehives distribution project in Al-Tafa district

BAYDA April 24. 2024 (Saba) - Al-Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris inaugurated on Wednesday a beehives distribution project in Al-Tafa district.

The project targets 57 beekeepers from the district, six beehives and five empty kernels to support beekeepers with income-generating projects within the project to improve food security implemented by the Red Crescent Society with funding from the Red Cross.

At the inauguration, the Governor of Al-Bayda stressed the importance of distributing beehives, to contribute to finding a source of income for the targeted families and alleviating their suffering in light of the current conditions.

He pointed to the interest of the provincial leadership in such projects, which come within the framework of the national vision matrix and encourage families to adopt projects that contribute to their self-reliance.

Governor Idris urged the application of criteria for selecting beehives, so that a number of them are distributed in the local market, thus contributing to increasing production and improving the living conditions of beneficiaries.

Abdullah al-Ameri, director of the agriculture and irrigation office in the province, said the natural factors enjoyed by the province are encouraging for agricultural projects, livestock and honey production.

In turn, the head of the Yemen Red Crescent Society in the governorate, Omar Al-Hadar, appreciated the support and interest of the governorate's leadership and the cooperation of the branch of the Humanitarian Affairs Council, the Agriculture Office and the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee.

He stressed the association's keenness to implement activities that contribute to improving the standard of living of the targeted families.
