MAHWIT April 23. 2024 (Saba) - An engineering team from the Irrigation Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture reviewed the water installations being implemented in a number of districts of Al Mahwit province.
Where the head of the ministry’s engineering team, Engineer Salim Nawas, the director of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in the province, Muhammad Al-Jaradi, the deputy director of the Agriculture Office, Saleh Qatina, and the director of the office’s irrigation department, Engineer Ahmed Rajeh, inspected the construction work on the goat water barriers in Al-Tawila District, Al-Hassi in Al-Khabt , Al-Diq District, Al-Mahwit District, and Al-Athab in Bani Saad District with knowledge. At the level of achievement in facilities, the difficulties facing the workflow, and the damage resulting from floods due to the failure to provide the necessary materials.
They pointed out the importance of these strategic barriers to harvest the largest possible amount of rainwater that falls seasonally on the highlands of the districts and is used to irrigate agricultural lands, as well as to recharge groundwater and drinking water wells.
Nawas and Al-Jaradi stressed the importance of supporting these vital projects and for each concerned party to play its role as quickly as possible in order to preserve the efforts and work accomplished at these checkpoints.
