Eilat Port Management plans to lay off half of staff due to Yemen's Red Sea operations
[20/ March/2024]

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS March 20. 2024 (Saba) -The main labor union in the Zionist enemy entity confirmed on Wednesday that half of the workers in the port of "Eilat", southern occupied Palestine, are at risk of losing their jobs, after the port suffered a major financial blow due to the Yemeni armed forces' continued targeting of ships linked to "Israel" in the Red Sea.

The Histadrut Workers' Union, the umbrella organization of hundreds of thousands of Zionists working in the public sector, said in a statement that the port administration had announced that it planned to fire half of the employees.

In the same context, the Greek-Canadian journalist and political activist, Dimitri Lascaris, published a video clip on his YouTube channel, from the port of Eilat, showing the "heavy damage" caused to Zionist trade in this port, as a result of Yemen's attacks against ships associated with the Zionist enemy.

"Yemeni targeting has continued to have dramatic effects on the facility, which is mainly used to import vehicles from Asia and to temporarily deliver and store oil because of its large storage capacity," Lascaris said.

The journalist toured the vicinity of the port, which appeared empty, shops and warehouses seemed closed, and there was no movement of workers or settlers altogether.

"The impact on the Zionist economy has been dramatic, shrinking by about 20 percent in the first months of the war, and has probably shrunk even further since then.
