More than 285 thousand cases benefited from services of Palestine Hospital

SANA'A March 15. 2024 (Saba) -285,381 cases benefited from the medical and therapeutic services provided by the Palestine Hospital for Motherhood and Childhood in the capital, Sana’a, during 2023 AD.

A report issued by the hospital, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), stated that outpatient clinics provided medical services to 22,079 cases of children, women and men.

It pointed out that 189,689 cases benefited from laboratory tests and the blood bank, 8,207 cases benefited from the emergency department, 14,527 cases benefited from radiology services, and 7,460 cases benefited from ECG, television, and echocardiography.

The report explained that the Department of Reproductive Health and Obstetrics provided medical services for 4,628 natural and caesarean births, while 2,201 surgical operations were performed, and the inpatient departments received 15,487 patients.

It reported that three thousand and 955 children received vaccination services for six childhood diseases, and 83 women immunized, while the therapeutic nutrition clinic provided medical services to 332 children and women, and the counseling clinic provided 1,255 consultations to care for pregnant and lactating women.

According to the report, the Palestine Maternal and Childhood Hospital recorded the birth of 231 twins, including two births of triplets, during the past year.

Hospital Director, Dr. Nada Al-Wajman, confirmed that the hospital implemented development and expansion projects in the nursery and intensive care departments for children, the early detection unit for breast and uterine cancer, the laboratory, and the blood bank, supplying it with modern medical equipment, as well as opening the internal sterilization unit.

She explained the projects included the installation of a solar energy system with a capacity of 200 kilowatts, funded by the Ministry of Finance and under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, the opening of an epidemiological isolation center for children with a capacity of 31 inpatient beds and ten care beds, and the establishment of a special center for rehabilitation and health training in the hospital.

Dr. Al-Wajman reported that an internal heart clinic opened in outpatient clinics with an Echo device for children and adults and a 12-channel ECG device, as well as a dermatology and cosmetic clinic, which provided with medical equipment.

She praised the great efforts made by all the workers at the Palestine Maternal and Child Hospital, including doctors, health professionals, technicians and employees, and their keenness to provide the best services to patients, overcome difficulties, and work to continuously develop performance.
