SANA'A March 05. 2024 (Saba) - There no doubt that the blessed battle of “Al-Aqsa Flood,” which began on the seventh of last October, came to powerfully reveal the Arab betrayal of Gaza in particular and of the Palestinian cause in general.

In parallel, it no wonder that support comes from non-Arab and non-Muslim countries and peoples, most notably South Africa, and its president Cyril Ramaphosa, which brought the Zionist enemy to the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide against the people of Gaza in light of this great Arab betrayal of Gaza.

In this context, the Palestinian writer Abdel Bari Atwan compared the great event that caught the attention of the world and topped the social networking sites, which: the American pilot burned himself, in protest against the genocide in Gaza.

Atwan said in a recent article entitled (Bombarding the hungry people of the Gaza Strip from the air with canned goods and “sandwiches”... It is the height of shame and humiliation): “Two events attracted the world’s attention on Tuesday, the first and most important: the action of a young American pilot who burned himself in front of the Zionist embassy in his country in protest against the massacres, committed by the occupying entity in the Gaza Strip.

He added: "As for the second incident, which was characterized by a scandalous nature, and was also documented in audio and video, it the sending of six planes loaded with food supplies, three of which were Jordanian, and others Emirati, Egyptian, and French military aircraft of the American-made C-130 type."

He explained, "The first event was the most watched on all social media, and the views reached hundreds of millions, if not more, the young American enjoyed unprecedented global sympathy, especially among the citizens of his country, and his "martyrdom" represented a shocking blow to his country's government.

He continued, saying: As for the second event, that is, dropping “humanitarian aid” from the air to the hungry in the Gaza Strip, the reactions ranged between critical and sarcastic on the one hand, which is the majority, and supportive welcoming, which the minority.

Atwan said: “It is very shameful that the governments of the three Arab countries are boasting and singing in the media, while they are the ones who have weapons, money, armies and loyalty to America, with such a very small step.”

At the conclusion of his speech, Atwan considered that this was a “shameful show-off that offends the governments that carried it out, and achieves very little for the annihilated, besieged, and starving Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”

An opinion poll conducted by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies at the beginning of this year, in which more than eight thousand male and female respondents participated, showed that the Arab street unanimous in considering the Palestinian issue “the issue of all Arabs and not the issue of the Palestinians alone.”

The survey showed that Arab citizens deal with this war as if it affects them directly, as 97 percent of respondents expressed that they feel psychological pressure to varying degrees as a result of the war on the Gaza Strip, and 84 percent even said that they feel great psychological pressure.

This confirms it not possible to deny the place that the Palestinian issue holds in the conscience of the “Arab peoples”.

The Palestinian issue has always been a central issue in the Arab world, and Arab countries have always pledged to support the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and independence, but in recent years, we have witnessed repeated disappointment by some Arab countries, whether through not taking a clear stance against the Zionist enemy, or by normalizing relations with this enemy, or by providing financial and military aid to it.

It is noteworthy that the Zionist enemy receives huge financial and military aid from America, and also receives aid from some Arab countries, such as the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, and others.

Observers believe that the biggest mistake, “intentional, of course,” made by the rulers of the Arab countries was preventing Arab citizens from visiting the occupied Palestinian territories under the pretext of boycotting the Zionist entity. However, the real loser here was not the Zionists, but rather the Arabs and Muslims who watched the Zionist enemy storm the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent prayers from being held, the call to prayer raised.

Historically, it certain that the abandonment of Gaza was an extension of a long history of Arab governments’ abandonment of Palestine, the beginnings of the Arab abandonment of the Palestinians were early.

In 1936 AD, during the Great Palestinian Revolt, the Arab governments sent telegrams to the Arab Higher Committee that was managing the revolution, demanding that they end the Palestinian strike that lasted six months in rejection of British policies, the Palestinians responded to these telegrams and ended their strike, and the result that Britain partitioned Palestine.

In the year 1948 AD, the Arab armies intervened to expel the Jews from Palestine, but what happened exactly the opposite!! What prompted the martyr Abdul Qader Al-Husseini to shout in the face of one of the Arab officials: “You traitors. History will write that you lost Palestine.” Unfortunately, what Al-Hussein said happened, and the man martyred two days after his words in the Battle of Al-Qastal.

In 1967 AD, there was a horrific defeat that led to the loss of all of Palestine, and was caused by the regime of Gamal Abdel Nasser and Hafez al-Assad, the Syrian Minister of defense at the time, Zionist documents published in 2000 AD about the facts of the 1967 war indicated that the size of the Zionist victory was not related to the efficiency of the war, military planning or management of war operations by Zionist leaders, but because Arab army the weak

In 1979 AD, the Arab disappointment was represented by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat’s signing of the peace agreement with the Zionist enemy entity, which emptied the Palestinian issue of its content and removed the largest Arab country from the circle of the Arab-Zionist conflict.

This Arab disappointment also appeared in 2006 AD, when the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” won the elections. Then the Zionist enemy imposed a comprehensive siege on the Gaza Strip with the support of some Arab countries.

In 2020, the UAE and Bahrain announced the normalization of their relations with the Zionist enemy entity, in American-brokered agreements, and this normalization angered the Palestinians, who considered it a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

On many occasions, the Arab countries failed to take a clear stance against the Zionist enemy, which gave him the green light to continue its violations against the Palestinian people. Perhaps one of the most prominent examples of this is the Arab League’s rejection in 2023 of a decision to sever diplomatic relations with the enemy entity, it was not convicted after the killing of journalist Sherine Abu Aqla.

It is worth mentioning that the future of the Palestinian issue depends greatly on the position of the Arab countries, If they continue to let Palestine down, this will mean the continuation of the Zionist occupation and the continued suffering of the Palestinian people, but only if the Arab countries take a unified and clear position in support of the Palestinian cause.

In fact, the Arab region cannot enjoy stability, security and freedom in light of the presence of the occupying Zionist enemy.
