Amnesty International calls for urgent investigation into 'flour massacre' in Gaza
[01/ March/2024]

THE HAGUE March 01. 2024 (Saba) - Amnesty International on Friday called for an urgent investigation into the death and injury of a large number of Palestinians by Israeli enemy army bullets while trying to obtain food aid in the northern Gaza Strip.

This came in a statement through its account on the "X" platform, about the flour massacre committed by the Zionist enemy army on Thursday, which resulted in the death of 112 Palestinians while waiting for aid at the Nabulsi roundabout, south of Gaza City.

The organization said in its statement that it continues to document violations against Palestinian civilians, and considers this attack part of that.

"There must be an urgent investigation into the horrific news that dozens of Palestinians have been killed and injured while trying to obtain food aid in northern Gaza."

The statement noted that the population in Gaza is suffering from hunger and that the United Nations has issued warnings of famine there, adding: "The brutal bombardment that came after the illegal Zionist blockade that has lasted for 16 years, is responsible for the catastrophic humanitarian crisis we are witnessing in the Gaza Strip."

The statement described the statements of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir regarding the suspension of the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip as "inhumane and cruel," stressing that the Zionist entity, as the occupying power, is obligated to ensure that Palestinians receive basic needs and aid.

The organization stressed that by not doing so, the Zionist entity violates international law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide against Palestinians.
